Vision, Mission and Values
Vision:
A world where the environment and people’s rights are respected with compassion and kindness.
Mission:
SADP seeks to be a responsible partner.
To do this, we:
- distribute and facilitate grants to local organizations and initiatives;
- support capacity of our partners in their work to protect rights and resources;
- work collaboratively, encourage dialogue, and convene around socio-economic change.
Values:
To achieve SADP vision, we strive to behave in line with our values in all that we do:
- Working collectively
- We work collaboratively. We strive to open space for discussion and coalition-building. We recognize that real and lasting change only comes from working in solidarity with others. We respect community benefit in collective decision approach.
- Respect
- We welcome and listen to different ideas and opinions. We approach our relationships with humility and openness. We value diversity and recognize the inherent value of all people.
- Accountability
- We have a primary responsibility to support the self-determination of peoples living in vulnerable and marginalized situations. We put their needs and voice at the center of our work. We act, make decisions and use our resources in an open and transparent way.
- Honesty
- We are truthful and consistent in what we say. Our actions match our words. People can trust what we say.
- Equity
- We treat everyone in a fair, just way with tolerance. We strive to support marginalized and vulnerable peoples to access their resources and rights. Our goal is justice for all.
- Willingness to Learn
- We approach our work with an open mind and heart. We are curious and adaptive. We strive to make high quality decisions based upon analysis, experience, wisdom and judgment. We collaborate with others to trial new approaches to address complex problems.
